What we do

Five pillars. One movement.

Every Utthan programme strengthens one of these pillars — together they form a comprehensive response to trafficking and gender-based violence.

Protection

Access to fundamental rights, legal aid, mental health support, rehabilitation, and protection from trafficking, child marriage and exploitation — with special focus on sex workers and persons with disabilities.

Prevention

Awareness in vulnerable communities, action against child marriage, survivor-led media advocacy, and policy engagement with local, national and international partners.

Education & Empowerment

Vocational training, financial independence, school enrolment for children, and family-community education on the importance of girls' education.

Leadership

Strengthening survivor and community resilience, inspiring youth to lead social change, and equipping stakeholders to demand accountability.

Innovation

Designing creative, context-specific interventions; applying social research and innovation to drive measurable, lasting impact.
